The doctor is in!
After many hours of work, blood, sweat and tears, the new Dr. Madness site is finally up. Hurrah! Now all I need is people who read this crap! Never mind that, let's just write for me for now. Talking to yourself is healthier than not talking at all, is what I always say (to myself). All in all, I'm a bit disappointed with how long it took me to do this. Last night, before going to sleep, I decided I wanted to build this, and it is now almost 24 hours later already. As usual, Internet Explorer was driving me totally insane again while everything worked like a charm on FireFox (ofcourse). Apache, PHP and Fedora started a joint effort to drive me absolutely bonkers by disallowing the CMS from accessing it's files correctly; which ended up being easily fixed by slapping Plesk in the face and demanding it pays attention to my brandspanking new config files (so I'm not a *nix guru, sue me). Ofcourse timeconsuming real world stuff had to be done as well: grocery shopping. The store at crawling distance decided that today was indeed a good day to do some interior redesigning so I had to walk miles and miles (well, ok, maybe 2) to get to another one. Yes, I could've driven there, but in a city like this one, that usually doesn't get you there faster. When I get home, I haven't spent 5 minutes behind the development pc before the power goes out for the entire block and remains out for about 5 hours. But now, ha ha, it is done. It is up. It is running. Victory is mine. I declare DrMadness.com officially open!
Comments by visitors are disabled for the time being, until I build the part that prevents spamming a bit ;-) Some updates are already planned (after a mere 2 hours of being operational) and I have a few neat things I might put up here in the future, which have nothing to do with my ranting.
